Artistic Operations
Reports
to: President
The Vice-President of Artistic Operations administers and is responsible for the artistic operations and functions' of the Company. Reviews all Company policies and proposed Company By-Laws affecting the artistic operations of the Company prior to submission to the Board of Directors. Acts as official representative for the Company in all matters concerning the Company's artistic operations.
Functions: The Vice-President, Artistic Operations has the authority and responsibility for the following:
1. Advising the Board of Directors of the Artistic Operations' activities.
2. Recommending additions and improvements in the operating and policy guides for the VP Artistic to the Board of Directors.
3. Approving additions and improvements in the operating and policy procedures of the functions reporting to the VP Artistic.
4. Appointing the Chairman of the Show Selection Committee, the High School Musical Awards Committee, and an Accompanist Chair.
5. Reporting the activities and status of all Artistic Operations to the Company Membership at all official meetings of the membership.
6. Furnishing an annual budget to the Company Business Manager for the Artistic Operations of the Company by the April Board meeting.
7. Review the job descriptions with each member reporting to the VP Artistic.
8. Schedule and attend a Critique before each show. Inform the Producer that forms with an outline of the show should be made up for the Critique Committee. (See Critique Guidelines.)
9. Notify Producers that sets must be nearly complete by the first critique at the Opera House.
10. If there is a problem casting a show, a Director may call upon the VP Artistic for assistance.
11. Can schedule a post-production meeting with producer, director, musical director, choreographer, stage manager and any other Board member as deemed necessary to discuss any unresolved aspect of a production within two weeks of a show's closing.
