The
Vice-President, Public Relations, is a Board appointed, non-voting position. The
Vice-President, Public Relations, shall strive to create healthy and respectful
communications between the Company (SLOC) and the media, promote professionalism
within the Company, and see that all public views of the Company are dignified.
Be aware that good public relations can bring new sources of financial support
to the Company, and to foster this whenever possible, and keep in mind that as a
non-profit volunteer organization, the Company depends on visibility, press
attention and communication support. Specific duties of the Vice-President,
Public Relations, shall include:
1.
Generate unpaid publicity for the Company, both newspapers and
multi-media, including calendar ads and public service announcements.
2.
Be the contact person or media personnel.
3.
Assist each show's publicity person in generation and distribution of
show press releases and media packages.
4.
Be solely responsible for the organization of photo shoots, selection of
publicity photos and head shots, and delivery of publicity photos to the show
publicity person for distribution to the media.
5.
Be responsible for the photo boards in the lobby for each show.
6.
Thank media people for their support.
7.
Keep calendar information up to date for the Albany League of Arts,
Schenectady Arts Council and the Saratoga County Arts Council.

Be responsible for all paid advertising, i.e. audition ads and show ads.

Be responsible for generating and mailing the newsletter.
10.
Be responsible for generating the annual brochure and the group sales
brochure in conjunction with the Vice-President, Audience Services.
11.
Provide continuity and a smooth transition by meeting with and
instructing the newly appointed Vice-President, Public Relations, when term of
office is concluded.
12.
Present monthly reports at the SLOC Board Meetings and a final report at
the Annual Membership meeting.
13.
Periodically review the guidelines and job descriptions contained in the
Policy Guide, and update the appropriate guidelines with Board approval as
necessary.
