Accompanist
Chairman

Operations
The
Accompanist Chairman obtains and coordinates the services of the accompanists
for tryouts and rehearsals for the season, including any special productions,
after consultation with the Musical Directors. The Vice-President of Artistic
Operations should be contacted if a problem cannot be solved through the
Producer. The Vice-President of Artistic
Operations will serve as temporary Chairman, or appoint someone, in the absence
of the Chairman.
1. At least
two weeks prior to tryouts, obtain scores from the Producer for each accompanist
and substitute, and distribute them.
2. Using
pencil, number each score and label: SCHENECTADY LIGHT OPERA COMPANY
3. Record
each number with the name of the accompanist.
4. Obtain a
rehearsal schedule from the Producer.
5. Obtain
accompanists for each rehearsal night.
6. Inform
each accompanist of the importance of calling early in the day if illness
prevents him/her from playing that evening.
7. Give a
list of the accompanists and their phone numbers to the Producer and Musical
Director.
8. Efficient
use of the accompanist is imperative. Any change in rehearsal schedule should be
relayed to the accompanist by the Producer.
9. Remind
the Musical Director of his responsibility for choosing a performance pianist
for SLOC House shows or a pit orchestra pianist for shows at Proctor's Theater.
10. If at
any time it is impossible to obtain an accompanist, advise the Producer
immediately.
11. Supply
the Program Chairman with the names of accompanists and substitutes.
13. All
rental scores should be returned to the Producer.
