Critique Committee

Reports to:  VP Artistic

To ensure quality productions, the critique committee shall review the progress of all the season productions and provide constructive criticism to the show's production staff.

        1.    The critique will take place approximately sixteen (16) days before the opening at Opera House.

        2.    The Critique Committee Chairperson with the show's Producer and Director will select a date for the critique.

        3.     The Critique Committee Chairperson will invite the present season Directors, Musical Directors and Choreographers to attend critique.

        4.     The Director, Musical Director, Choreographer and the Producer of the show may ask others to attend in order to maintain a well balanced critique committee.

        5.    Within the Critique Committee there must a minimum of :

a.  Director of a previous SLOC show

b.  Musical director of a previous SLOC show

c.  Member of the SLOC Board

d. Technical person

6.     Board members, including the President and Vice-Presidents are invited to attend and participate in the critique.

7.      Lighting, set and sound should be used to the extent of availability at the time of critique in order to provide the Critique Committee the ability to evaluate those aspects of the production.

8.      The Critique Committee Chairperson will facilitate the critique both artistically and technically. This will ensure that the production is on schedule in all aspects of the production.

9.     The Chairperson will immediately report any show concerns to the SLOC president.

10.  If necessary, the Board may choose to have an additional critique at the first dress rehearsal.
