SLOC GUIDELINES - Updated March, 1998

Usher Chairman

Reports to:  Vice President, Audience Services

1. Secure eight (8) ushers - two to take tickets (at bottom of center stairs), four for center aisle, and one for each side aisle.

2. Secure Houseman.

3. Each performance, three ushers will be assured seats:

last row, left aisle

last row, right aisle

last row, center aisle

They will be responsible for opening doors at intermission and at the end of the Show.

They will remain near doors at intermission and at the end of the show (until the bulk of the audience has left the theater) to direct and help any audience member needing assistance.

They will be provided flash lights so as to light the way for audience members who need to leave theater during the Show.

4. Ushers should be encouraged to help, if needed, with refreshments in the Green Room during intermission.

5. Ushers must not stand in the back of the theater during the performance.

6. Ushers should point out location of steps in theater aisles and be sure to return ticket stubs to audience members
